Sisterhood
Black girlhood is not often reflected on or recorded but where it is captured best is usually literature. But the common thread for most black girlhood stories is often trauma. Black girlhood is something that is often interrupted by an outside force and is often un protected. Those who are experiencing black girlhood are expected to protect themselves and others. Sisterhood is a reflection on the more positive feelings around black girlhood and the comfort that comes from being surrounded by one's sisters and protecting each other.
