No Rest

No Rest

Being the only black body in a predominately white space is a draining experience. There is so much taking and consuming of the black individual with no replenishing. Constant microaggressions, and anxiety eating away overtime. If a black person spends their whole life in these straining circumstances there is no end, no healing, no rest. There are many days were you are too tired to have a voice  or your voice goes unheard once again as the black individual is engulfed in whiteness.

This piece is a digital painting made in Photoshop and printed onto canvas.
