The Perfect Wife: a Conjure Tale

A man had a perfect life with a farm that yielded well and a beautiful wife who never complained because they had plenty of children to keep her company when he was out on the town with other women. All that changed when his wife died; soon after a flood came through and destroyed his farm and killed all of his children. The man eventually decides to go looking for a new wife. He is tricked/ conjured into a new marriage. Once married the new wife won't let the man go out like he used to. She also gives all her money to her grandchildren.
This piece is a twist of this folk story to change the subject of the story to the man’s first wife. What if the events of the original story unfolded because of a displeasure she held with his “perfect life” and all the good in his wife was because of a power she held and she sacrificed her life and children to trap her husband in an unhappy marriage like he did to her?
